MEET OUR RB FAMILY: DAN

Richmond Brothers team is the almond butter to our jelly, the Simon to our Garfunkel, the wind to our wings. Without our team we never could have accomplished all we have today. It has been some time since we publicly thanked each and every one of them for all they have done, so we wanted to take the next few months to showcase our “peeps” and why they are so important to us. We hope you enjoy these posts as a way to really get to know those that make up your financial cheerleading team, too. –Tara Furnas, Vice President & Co-Owner

Having spent over six and a half years with Richmond Brothers, Dan is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a member of Ed Slott’s Master Elite IRA Advisor Group℠. As part of Richmond Brothers’ Allocation Team, he meets regularly with clients to review their portfolio performance and specific investment holdings, as well as to review the current market environment. In addition, Dan is the first advisor point of contact for new prospective clients and serves as our client Social Security benefits liaison.

Dan told us that his favorite thing about being at Richmond Brothers has been the people, saying that included both co-workers and clients. He explained, “I am surrounded by people that truly care about other people and that makes my job and my life more enjoyable.”

Dan has certainly played his part in helping to make Richmond Brothers a delightful place to come to work every day, too. So what do you not know about Dan yet? Read on and you may be quite surprised!

  • Most unusual item in desk drawer – An autographed picture of myself, I know, sounds weird. Long story short, it was a white elephant gift a few years ago that ended up back in my possession.
  • Any hidden talents most people don’t know about? I can do a pretty good Chewbacca impression!
  • Accomplishment(s) you are most proud of: Other than becoming a Father (of course!) I would say my CFP® license. It required a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years of classes, 3 years of work experience and to top it off, I had to pass a 10 hour exam.
  • What’s on your bucket list? I’d love to go to all 7 continents
  • Best vacation ever: This past Spring my wife, Mallory, and I went to Europe for 10 days (Amsterdam, Bruges, and Paris). There is so much history there and of course the food is really good too!
  • Best meal you’ve ever had: I would say it was the brunch we had at Brennan’s in New Orleans (coincidentally probably the most expensive meal we ever had too)! It was a 5 course brunch and we had things like turtle soup, gumbo, eggs benedict, and rabbit. But the best part was that it is the home of the Banana’s Foster, so of course we had to try that too. It was really cool seeing them light the banana liqueur on fire!
  • Least favorite super hero and why: This is probably pretty controversial, but my least favorite super hero is Batman. I mean, he is just really good at Karate and has a lot of money for gadgets. That’s not a superhero!

Dan – we are so happy you have made Richmond Brothers your “hangout” and we’re looking forward to celebrating lucky number seven with you next year (and of course oodles of more years after that). Thank you for helping to make Richmond Brothers what it is today! And of course an extra special thank you to your wife, Mallory and your two sweethearts, Emelia and Eloise, for allowing us to be an extension of you.
